Internships

The Center accepts students enrolled in various colleges and universities as interns in our prevention, treatment, and juvenile justice programs. We are committed to providing rich and valuable experiences to students in exchange for their service and assistance in our programs. Qualified supervisors are available for social work, mental health counseling, and marriage & family therapy students in master's degree programs as well as for doctoral students in psychology. The Center also accepts undergraduate students enrolled in social work, psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and related classes.

If you would like to become an intern or fieldwork student at The Center, you may do so by contacting Jody Scott, Clinical Director, at (407) 245-0014 ext. 233, 100 W. Columbia Street, Orlando, Fl. 32806, or by email at jscott@cfdfl.com. An interview will be scheduled to discuss your interests and the placement opportunities available. It should be noted that some colleges and universities require the faculty or program representative to make the initial contact with The Center to recommend a student.

Candidates for internships will undergo background screening prior to placement in a Center program. Interns are expected to fully comply with confidentiality laws and the Center's Policy on Ethical Conduct and Behavior, and to display professional behavior at all times.
